Wealth TV to Launch on PanAmSat's Galaxy 13

(23 February 2004) Herring Broadcasting Inc has selected Galaxy 13 to provide satellite delivery of its Wealth TV channel to cable and DBS providers throughout North America. Galaxy 13 is the home of the USA's first and leading high-definition television (HDTV) neighbourhood featuring such broadcasters as Cinemax HD, HBO HDTV, HDNet, Starz! HD and TNT HD.

Located at 127 degrees west longitude in the US cable arc, Galaxy 13 is part of PanAmSat's "Power of Five" antenna program, which provides qualified cable operators with simultaneous access to five Galaxy neighbourhood satellites. It is also one of the industry's most advanced satellites and the first of three HD satellites that PanAmSat will deploy above the US by mid-2005. Only a few weeks ago, Galaxy 13 moved into position and took over the duties of Galaxy 9, which is now a new Galaxy in-orbit spare. In addition to its roster of HD programmers, Galaxy 13 also includes some of the industry's premier video broadcasters including Charter Communications, E! and the Starz Encore thematic channels.

Herring Broadcasting Inc is launching the "Wealth TV" network on June 1, 2004. Wealth TV is a lifestyles and entertainment network designed to have broad appeal, providing a behind the scenes look into how the wealthy achieved and enjoy their success. Wealth TV is launching numerous new programs in true high definition (HD) format.
