Simplifies Satellite Broadband Connections for Oil and Gas Sector with New
Auto-mount Antenna
(16 October 2006) RAMTelecom Inc., a
satellite service provider delivering flexible, scalable solutions for
broadband data and voice business communications, today introduced a new
auto-mount antenna system that simplifies the process of establishing instant
satellite broadband communications anywhere in North
America.
Engineered and built for life in the oil and gas
industry, the Hyperlink Sat-Trak VR5 Motorized Dish Mount System distributed by
RAMTelecom is a rugged, environmentally tested and approved mobile satellite
antenna. It is an extremely reliable auto-mount system designed for quick and
easy deployment and minimum field maintenance in a variety of applications. The
complete system can be easily deployed from a stowed position to fully locked
operation in less than five minutes. Once deployed, it can be quickly
configured for multiple satellites and easily integrated with a variety of
satellite hubs. "The RAMTelecom auto-mount system is proving to be extremely
effective for our customers with field operations across Alberta," said Rex
Brigan, General Manager of Calgary-based Global Energy Services Ltd. Global
Energy provides communication systems, wireless gas detection and artificial
lift solutions to the oil and gas industry, and is a reseller of RAMTelecom
satellite services. "After several unsuccessful trials with other platforms, we
selected the RAMTelecom system because of its quality architecture, ruggedness
and ease of use. We have successfully deployed 11 of these systems for our
customers across the province. They connect to the network quickly, are easy to
configure and provide complete and instant broadband services that allow our
customers to maintain the flow of communications with all their remote
sites."
The Sat-Trak VR5 is part of RAMTelecom's complete portfolio of
fixed and mobile satellite communication solutions.
RAMTelecom offers
VSAT-based satellite communication services delivered using the company's
proprietary satellite hub. These services enable the delivery of value-added
broadband data and voice solutions designed to meet the fixed and mobile
communication requirements of medium and large enterprise customers. RAMTelecom
manages customer services effectively through centralised monitoring and
network management stations at its network operations centre in
Ottawa.
"With its ease-of-use and multiple configuration capabilities,
our new auto-mount antenna system provides instant fixed and mobile
communication to medium and large enterprise organisations anywhere in North
America," said Gilles Desmarais, President and Chief Operating Officer of
RAMTelecom. "Although it was designed specifically for the oil and gas sector,
it can also be used by mining and exploration companies and utilities, as well
as disaster recovery and emergency management teams. The result is instant
communications with unmatched quality of service, where and when our customers
need it."
