New Appointments Within Alcatel Alenia Space


(20 October 2006) Olivier Badard is appointed Vice-President, Sales and Marketing for Alcatel Alenia Space's telecommunications activities, based in Cannes, France.

Olivier Badard will report to Blaise Jaeger, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Alcatel Alenia Space's telecommunications activities.

Eddie Kato recently joined the company as Vice President and General Manager for the Asia Pacific Region. In the scope of his position, he will head Asia Pacific marketing and sales satellites activities and will report to Olivier Badard.

Olivier Badard

From March 2003 till September 2006, Olivier Badard was Vice-President for Alcatel North America and a Member of Alcatel North America's Senior Management Team. Prior to that, he was in charge of telecom ground network solutions sales in the Americas. From 1992 till 2000, Olivier Badard held various sales and marketing managerial positions with the Telecommunications Cable Division of Alcatel in the United States and in Europe.

Olivier Badard holds an MBA in International Business from the International University of San Francisco, California and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Montpellier (France).

Eddie Kato

Prior to his appointment, Eddie Kato was Vice President, business development for Orbital Sciences Corporation's communications satellites based in the US. Prior to Orbital, Eddie served as Director of Marketing at Lockheed Martin from 1991 to 1997. Before that, Eddie worked for Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO) in Tokyo, Japan.

Eddie Kato graduated from the Yokohama City University majoring in International Relations.
