Vizada Launches SkyFile Access

(21 June 2007) Vizada (formerly France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications) today launches SkyFile Access, a simple, secure and cost-effective solution enabling users of Inmarsat mobile satellite terminals to optimise data transfer.

On land or at sea, SkyFile Access provides a direct, seamless Internet connection for end-users operating in areas with limited access to terrestrial telecoms infrastructure. SkyFile Access is available on all Inmarsat terminals (BGAN, RBGAN, Fleet, Mini-M, GAN, A, B, M), and provides access to the following tools and applications:

In addition, the service is not subject to access or monthly fees, meaning that customers only pay for the airtime.

SkyFile Access completes the SkyFile family of Internet-based tools and applications for mobile satellite terminals, enabling end-users to create a virtual office environment in remote locations. Key solutions in this family include SkyFile Mail, developed by Vizada to facilitate emailing through compression of large files, crash recovery, remote control and least cost routing (ISDN/MPDS). 6,000 end-users currently benefit from SkyFile Mail's features.

In addition, SkyFile Video is a mobile editing application enabling users of mobile satellite terminals to cut, compress and transfer clips filmed with a video camera.
