Ciel Satellite
Receives Approval In Principle To Develop Six Canadian Spectrum
Licences
(9 July 2008) The Ciel Satellite Group
announced today that Industry Canada has issued Approvals in Principle to Ciel
to develop the following spectrum: Ka FSS at 91°W and 109.2°W; 17 GHz
BSS at 91°W, 103°W and 107.3°W; and 12 GHz BSS at
138°W.
Preliminary assignment to Ciel of these frequencies
and orbital positions was announced by Industry Canada in June 2007. Ciel
recognises the Government of Canada's leadership in promoting a more
competitive and innovative Canadian telecommunications industry through this
licensing process.
